Did you know that Brave comes with a crypto wallet built-in? Here’s what Brave Wallet is, and how you can go about using it.
Brave is a popular choice in browsing thanks to its focus on privacy, ad and tracker blocking, and the fact that using it is a move away from mainstream browsers. If you’ve heard the name, you’ve likely heard of Brave Ads and Brave Rewards.
However, if Brave Wallet slipped under your radar, this article will explain what that is and how you can get it.
What Is Brave Wallet?
Brave Wallet is a crypto wallet built directly into Brave browser. You can use it to buy, store, swap, and manage your tokens, send and receive NFTs, view market data, and much more.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, a crypto wallet is a place where you can store digital currencies like Bitcoin, or the Basic Attention Tokens you receive as part of the Brave Rewards program.
Since Brave Wallet is native to the browser, it doesn’t rely on extensions, which reduces security risks and gives it a smoother performance.
This is what sets it apart from the previous Brave crypto wallet based on MetaMask, another crypto wallet that works on iOS, Android, and browser extensions.
How to Use Brave Wallet
If you’re already using Brave, getting started with this feature is as simple as clicking the wallet icon in the top-right corner of the browser. Here, you enter a password, receive a backup code, and once you confirm the code your wallet is ready for you.
If you’re not using the browser, you’ll need to do so if you want access to this feature—and many other great features, such as getting paid crypto to browse and not using a browser that tracks your every move.
Making the Switch to Brave
While Brave doesn’t offer a massive suite of services like Google Workspace, you can take back your privacy and data with its optional search engine, video conferencing, playlists, and news features built right into its browser.
You’ll also have the opportunity to try out Brave Wallet to see if it’s the right crypto wallet for you.
